As a Principal Signal Processing Engineer, you will be developing the next generation technology for treatment of heart rhythm disorders. You will be responsible for developing novel algorithms and software for diagnosis and therapy during cardiac ablation procedures. You will learn under the guidance of some of the industry's prominent experts in the field of medical device engineering, while working in a fun and collaborative office environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing, developing, and testing real-time, high-performance, high-reliability code for digital signal processing and computational algorithms. The ideal candidate can take ownership of key software features while working collaboratively with other engineering teams and is passionate about working on a product that will have a positive impact on the lives of millions. Primary Responsibilities Design, develop, and test signal processing algorithms, implemented as high-performance high-reliability production code for a medical device. Collaborate with hardware engineering team on electronics and firmware to support signal processing needs. Manage signal processing pipelines within Affera software products. Performance verification and validation of signal processing and computational algorithms. Analyze bench, preclinical, and clinical data to inform design decisions and verification activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of signal processing fundamentals including filter design (continuous and discrete) and statistics. Experience with machine learning-based development, including dataset annotation, model development, system validation, and deployment in production software environments. Understanding of, or interest in learning about, cardiac pacing, mapping, ablation, and body impedance measurements. Hands on R&D experience, ideally working with custom/prototype hardware. Proficiency with software development on Linux operating system. Experience programming in Python and C++. Ability to work in an agile development environment. Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive. PR) locations (USD):$152,800.00 - $229,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
