Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: Division CFO Smart Buildings __ IS Division Manager ELSB Location This is a global role. The candidate can be based anywhere globally, preferably in Europe and close to an ELSB plant. In this role, you will lead the Information Systems (IS) function for the Smart Buildings Division, shaping and executing the division’s IS strategy to support business growth and operational excellence. You will be accountable for the division’s IS architecture, technology roadmap, and project portfolio, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and business-focused IS services. You will drive the modernization, simplification, and standardization of the division’s IS landscape while maintaining alignment with ABB’s enterprise architecture, governance standards, and cybersecurity requirements. In close partnership with business and technology stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies, optimize IS investments, and maximize the value delivered through technology solutions. As a member of the EL IS leadership team, you will build strong relationships across the organization, influence strategic decisions, and foster collaboration between business and IS functions. You will also lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing IS team, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity. This role is contributing to the Smart Buildings Division within Electrification. Main stakeholders are Division Leadership Team, Electrification IS Manager & direct ELSB IS Management. Responsibilities IS Strategy & Architecture: Develop IS strategy and architecture for the Smart Buildings Division in alignment with division business strategy, and broader ABB IS strategy and Enterprise Architecture. Drive modernization and simplification of division IS landscape as part of ABB DSM program, and support data standardization initiatives. IS Delivery: Own and ensure successful delivery of the division distinct IS project portfolio, and Core and Common projects impacting Smart Buildings Division. Deliver Smart Buildings provided IS services, both Distinct and Common (e.g. Country IS Services in Germany, Saudi Arabia as well as Salesforce.com for whole of ABB), and ensure that Core and Common IS services received are in line with agreed SLAs. Drive continuous improvement and facilitate best practice sharing. IS Policies & Information Security adherence: Ensure compliance with ABB IS Enterprise Architecture, relevant IS Policies and regulations. Ensure information security governance, risk management, and compliance across the division. Budget & Financial Control: Control IS budget, spend and cost allocation, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency to optimize controllable IS spend and ensure value-added investments. People Leadership & Development: Ensure your area is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect subordinates, demonstrating strong leadership driven by collaboration, transparency, and IS technical know-how. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience across a broad range of information technology disciplines Proven experience leading IS/IT teams, projects, and business initiatives in a complex, global environment with the ability to coach, develop, motivate, and lead high-performing teams across multiple locations and cultures. Strategic technology leader with strong analytical skills, translating business needs into impactful technology solutions and roadmaps aligned to enterprise objectives. Business- and value-focused, with expertise in financial management, technology portfolios, budgets, and vendor partnerships to maximize ROI and operational performance. Influential collaborator and communicator, building strong stakeholder relationships and driving alignment across business and technology teams. Results-driven change agent, leading technology adoption, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while delivering measurable business outcomes.
