The PositionYour Department Are you curious about sequencing technologies, artificial intelligence and how innovative laboratory solutions are successfully introduced and supported across different countries? You will join our EMEA Sequencing Support organization, which brings together technical and application expertise to support the introduction of the new AXELIOS 1 Sequencing Platform across the region. Based at the Regional Customer Support Center in Mannheim, our teams support Roche organizations across EMEA. We work closely with colleagues from Field Service, Field Applications, Global Customer Support and Product Development to help establish effective and scalable customer support structures. During your internship, you will gain insights into next-generation sequencing, regional customer support and the launch of a new platform. You will contribute to defined projects, collaborate with regional and global experts and support the development of structures, tools and processes that enable our specialist teams. In this role, digital innovation includes exploring how AI, data-driven approaches and digital collaboration tools can improve technical and application support, knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. Your contribution will help shape how Roche teams are prepared, connected and supported throughout the introduction and ongoing support of this new sequencing technology. Your Opportunity This internship combines sequencing technology, customer support, digital innovation, process development and international project work. Depending on your background and interests, you will have the opportunity to: contribute to the introduction of a new sequencing platform across the EMEA region gain insights into how technical and application support organizations operate support the development of regional support processes and collaboration models explore AI-supported approaches for knowledge management, information retrieval and operational improvement analyze experiences and feedback from installations, training activities and support cases help turn lessons learned into reusable standards, tools and resources work on your own defined project or work package collaborate with experts from different countries and functions understand how a complex laboratory platform is supported throughout its lifecycle Your Responsibilities As an intern, you will support the Technical Support and Application Support teams with project-based, analytical and organizational activities. Your responsibilities may include: Supporting projects related to the regional introduction and support of the AXELIOS 1 Sequencing Platform Supporting the planning, coordination and documentation of installations, training activities and support initiatives Collecting, structuring and analyzing feedback and lessons learned from regional activities Translating expert input into clear and reusable guidelines, checklists, knowledge articles and team resources Identifying potential use cases for generative AI and other digital tools within customer support Creating and maintaining project trackers, status overviews and management summaries Supporting communication and knowledge sharing across regional and global teams Contributing to the continuous improvement of support processes and ways of working Your Profile You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program or are completing a gap year between your bachelor’s and master’s studies. You are studying natural sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics, engineering, medical technology, data science, business informatics, business administration or a comparable subject. You are interested in sequencing technologies, customer support, digital tools and the improvement of operational processes. You enjoy combining analytical thinking with practical problem-solving. You are able to quickly understand complex topics and communicate them in a clear and structured way. You work independently, reliably and with a proactive mindset. You enjoy collaborating with people from different backgrounds, countries and areas of expertise. You are comfortable using digital collaboration tools; experience with Google Workspace is a plus. You have very good English skills. German language skills are an advantage. ​ Previous experience in next-generation sequencing, customer support, process improvement or artificial intelligence is welcome but not required. Programming skills are beneficial but not a prerequisite. More important to us are your curiosity, willingness to learn and motivation to contribute.
