THE ROLE: AMD is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Multimedia Platform Software team in Serbia. In this role, you will help develop and deliver cutting-edge content protection technologies that enable secure premium video playback across AMD platforms. You will work at the intersection of platform security, multimedia, graphics, and operating system technologies, contributing to solutions that protect digital content while delivering exceptional user experiences. As part of a highly collaborative engineering team, you will partner with experts across Platform Security Processor (PSP), graphics, display, multimedia, driver, and software architecture teams to design and implement secure playback technologies for next-generation devices. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex challenges in Linux systems, trusted execution environments, secure content delivery, and hardware-assisted security. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a self-motivated software engineer who thrives in a highly technical and collaborative environment. You are naturally curious about system-level technologies, security architectures, and multimedia frameworks. You enjoy debugging complex issues, working across software and hardware boundaries, and developing robust solutions that meet stringent security and performance requirements. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and are passionate about building secure, high-quality software solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and maintain Widevine OEMCrypto implementations in Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) Develop and optimize secure content decryption modules (CDM) for protected video playback Implement secure buffer handling and encrypted content processing pipelines Work on integration between OEMCrypto, secure VA-API, and multimedia frameworks Develop end-to-end testing applications for Widevine L1 secure playback validation Collaborate with PSP (Platform Security Processor), multimedia driver teams, and display teams for secure video path implementation Implement and maintain secure buffer formats for encrypted content delivery Support HDCP integration and secure rendering pipelines Investigate, debug, and resolve security-related software issues throughout the trusted application stack. Work with Google Widevine certification and compliance requirements Contribute to continuous improvements in validation automation, testing methodologies, and software quality processes. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience developing Linux platforms or Linux kernel drivers or multimedia software on Android in C/C++ . Experience with media frameworks or video codecs or multimedia APIs and hardware-accelerated video processing or streaming technologies like DASH, HLS, and Common Encryption (CENC). Knowledge of DRM technologies and content protection mechanisms. Understanding of memory management, particularly secure memory handling (TMZ - Trusted Memory Zone). Understanding of cryptographic concepts and secure coding practices like secure boot or trusted execution environments or hardware security modules Understanding of memory management, particularly secure memory handling (TMZ - Trusted Memory Zone) Experience working with Google Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, or comparable DRM ecosystems is highly desirable. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
