Chief of Staff – AI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Cancer Care Siemens Healthineers Role Summary: The Chief of Staff will partner closely with the Head of the AI CoE in Cancer Care to drive strategic execution, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment. This role ensures the successful delivery of high-impact AI-powered solutions that transform oncology diagnostics, treatment planning, adaptive radiotherapy, and personalized medicine. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Alignment Partner closely with the Head of AI CoE to define, communicate, and execute the strategic vision for AI in oncology. Facilitate leadership team meetings, quarterly business reviews, strategy offsites, and cross-functional planning sessions. Drive alignment across global R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Product, Research & Science, Engineering, and Commercial teams. Identify strategic opportunities, competitive risks, regulatory hurdles, and scalability challenges, then proactively address them. Executive Advisory & Decision Support Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Head of AI CoE on strategy, prioritization, partnerships, resourcing, and new AI initiatives. Prepare high-quality executive materials, including Board updates, investor narratives, clinical evidence summaries, and strategic roadmaps. Provide data-driven insights, competitive analysis, and risk assessments on emerging AI concepts and technologies. Operational Excellence Lead or support high-impact AI projects from model development through clinical validation, regulatory submission, and deployment. Design and optimize scalable processes for AI development, clinical dataset management, validation, regulatory pathways, data governance, and cross-team collaboration. Ensure rigorous follow-through on decisions with clear accountability across global matrixed organizations. Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Craft internal and external communications, including executive messaging, clinical white papers, scientific congress materials, and publications. Act as central liaison with global business units, academic partners, KOLs, healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and senior leadership. Maintain clear, timely information flow while protecting sensitive clinical data, intellectual property, and patient information. People & Culture Leadership Champion a high-performance, innovation-driven culture focused on scientific excellence, patient impact, ethical AI, and responsible innovation. Support talent acquisition, onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning for critical AI, clinical, and data science roles. Knowledge, Skills, & Experience: The ideal candidate is a highly structured, analytical thinker with outstanding communication skills, executive presence, and proven ability to influence without authority in complex, global, matrixed environments. 8+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, Chief of Staff, management consulting, or business leadership roles (ideally in healthcare technology, medtech, AI/ML, or life sciences). Deep understanding of AI/ML applications in healthcare, with preferred experience in oncology, medical imaging, or radiotherapy. Strong familiarity with healthcare regulatory landscapes (FDA, EU MDR/IVDR, GDPR/HIPAA) and clinical evidence requirements for AI medical devices. Proven success operating in fast-paced, global, matrixed organizations. Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex priorities with excellence and deliver results. Highly analytical with strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical AI concepts into strategic business narratives. Prior experience supporting senior executives in a Chief of Staff or equivalent capacity. Demonstrated discretion and integrity when handling sensitive clinical, regulatory, IP, and people matters. The expected compensation for this position is: $108,500 - $155,000 Factors which may affect starting compensation within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
