DESCRIPTION: Join Unity Lab Services, a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, as a Lead Site Specialist to contribute to global science advancement. In this role, you'll guide and support a team delivering essential laboratory support services that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. At customer sites, you'll oversee daily operations including order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling, chemical tracking, glass wash, and pipette services, while ensuring exceptional customer service and regulatory compliance. You'll implement improvement initiatives, maintain safety standards, and serve as a key liaison between Thermo Fisher Scientific and our customers. Location/Division Specific Information How do we make an impact? Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs. What will you do? This position directs the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the site lead and/or supervisor, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations. May oversee service offerings including but not limited to: order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling, chemical tracking, glass wash, and pipette services. Verify chemical inventory levels, locations, and expiration dates by performing bench audits and full-cycle counts using barcode scanners. Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming chemical shipments according to compatibility guidelines and DOT regulations. Monitor stock levels, recognize events, troubleshoot process failures, and perform root cause analysis. Monitor order progress, identify potential delays, and suggest workflow improvements. Assist customers with order-related tasks through systems like SAP/Oracle, Salesforce, and EDI portals, including entering, updating, canceling, or expediting orders and returns. Deliver on committed contractual scope of work. Assist with tracking business metrics. Implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventory. Serve as a trainer and SME, developing and delivering training materials. Drive process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives. Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively. Be involved with and support safety programs such as hazard identification, conduct inspections and incident reporting/investigations as required. May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management How will you get here? Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered. Experience 3+ years of progressive, proven experience required 3+ years of experience in customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse operations, or inventory control roles. Experience/Certification with ULSIM and DFO/MF systems, and PowerBI is preferred. Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Possesses strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance staff workloads, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment Physical Requirements / Work Environment Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods. Ability to work overtime, as needed. Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $23.04–$34.56.
