Location/Division Specific Information Located in Austin, TX, this position entails assisting the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) with relevant experience in GSD or a similar field. Discover Impactful Work: Our Manufacturing Technician II team members are responsible for ensuring high-quality production in our downstream filling and packaging departments. This includes filling, capping, labeling, and assembling both sub-assemblies and finished goods. You will be vital in maintaining our world-class standards and helping us compete on a global scale. Many tasks will be performed in a clean manufacturing environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols with personal protective equipment (PPE). A Day in the Life: Complete manufacturing tasks with precision and consistency Fill, cap, and label vials, bottles, and tubes following established procedures for flawless products Communicate and collaborate effectively to ensure daily production goals are met Work in standard and clean room environments, adhering to PPE requirements Safely operate both manual and automated filling equipment Complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements on time and align with all ISO and regulatory standards Interact with internal personnel to ensure smooth operations and customer happiness Recognize and address deviations from accepted practices Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to prevent non-conforming products Maintain strong attendance and punctuality Participate in one-on-one training until proficient Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed Experience and Education: Must have a high school diploma or similar relevant experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience in a life sciences manufacturing environment is a plus Proven ability to follow policies, procedures, and schedules independently Adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to lift/move objects: 10lbs regularly, 25lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally Operate semi-automated and manual filling equipment Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 80,000 outstanding minds has an exceptional story to tell.
