THE ROLE: AMD is seeking a Senior Customer Quality Engineer to serve as the primary quality interface for strategic customers, driving customer satisfaction, product quality, and issue resolution across the entire product lifecycle. In this highly visible customer-facing role, you will lead quality initiatives for key accounts, manage customer quality performance, and partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Operations to ensure world-class product reliability and customer experience. You will own customer quality scorecards, lead complex technical escalations and root cause investigations, support new product introductions (NPI), and represent the voice of the customer within AMD. Your ability to combine strong technical expertise with outstanding communication and relationship management skills will be critical to driving continuous improvement and long-term customer success. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a technically strong, customer-focused quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced semiconductor environment. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, working across global cross-functional teams, and building trusted relationships with customers at both the engineering and executive levels. You are highly analytical, proactive, and organized, with experience leading structured problem-solving efforts and translating technical findings into actionable business outcomes. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a relentless focus on customer satisfaction, product quality, and operational excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary Customer Quality Engineer for strategic customer accounts. Own customer quality scorecards, quality metrics, DPPM performance, and customer satisfaction initiatives. Lead customer quality escalations, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and long-term preventive solutions. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Reliability, and Operations teams to resolve complex technical issues. Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring customer quality requirements are incorporated into product development and launch activities. Provide technical guidance on customer issues, failure analysis, field returns, and product reliability investigations. Lead customer audits, technical reviews, executive business reviews, and quality presentations. Analyze field quality data, reliability trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Champion structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Six Sigma tools. Serve as the voice of the customer within AMD by communicating customer requirements, quality concerns, and improvement opportunities across the organization. Drive cross-functional process improvements that enhance product quality, reliability, operational performance, and overall customer experience. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience within the semiconductor, electronics, server, networking, embedded, AI, or data center industries. Background in Customer Quality Engineering, Product Quality, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, Failure Analysis, Customer Engineering, or Technical Support. Experience supporting hyperscale cloud providers, OEMs, ODMs, or other strategic enterprise customers. Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, qualification, reliability engineering, packaging, and test operations. Experience managing customer quality scorecards, DPPM performance, field quality metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrated success leading customer escalations, executive communications, and cross-functional technical investigations. Working knowledge of structured quality methodologies including 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and Six Sigma. Experience with server platforms, x86 processors, GPUs, AI accelerators, FPGAs, adaptive computing, or embedded products is highly desirable. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
