Location/Specific Division Location The Marietta, OH site is part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Laboratory Equipment Division (LED), where we design and manufacture laboratory equipment used in hospitals, healthcare settings, and research facilities across the globe. A Day in the Life: Must be able to work independently and effectively under minimal functional support, quality, leadership, and supervision making decisions while also maintaining production requirements Proficient in SAP ECC ERP system Participates in a one-piece-flow assembly operation to produce products requiring attention to details and focus on work duties. Prepares components and assembles product following work instructions with emphasis on quality. Utilizes SAP system shared plant-wide to accomplish production goals. Enters product related data into computer system to track component serial numbers, scan bar codes, production rates (percent good), track physical location, etc. Completes quality inspection process during sub-assembly and at key points at designated and completes appropriate internal control documents. Order and retrieve supplies/materials such as cardboard, bags, warehouse items, etc., using paper and SAP documents. Troubleshoots work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience toward resolution and taking appropriate steps for assistance. Adjusts assembly process to obtain specified clearances, allowances, etc., and uses gauges, test instruments, and hand tools to accomplish job specifications. Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values Perform all job duties within ISO standards Work on Continuous Improvement and support all PPI, Keys and Lean projects Perform other duties and cross training as assigned Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required. Background in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, sophisticated manufacturing processes is preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrated ability in efficiently working in a Team of 8-10 colleagues. Ability to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaboratively. Ability to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teams. Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Ability to lift-up to 45lbs. Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds. Ability to work in appropriate PPE. Environment consists of climate-controlled manufacturing facility
