Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to work As a Process Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, analyzing defects, and providing actionable solutions. You will focus on ensuring the quality of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for data centers and critical power applications. The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power – Critical Power- UPS Business to be based at NELAMANGALA, BANGALORE, India. You will be mainly accountable for: Quality Planning & Process Control Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, inspection checklists, CTQ parameters, and Quality Gates to ensure robust process control and product quality. Continuous Improvement & Defect Resolution Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY), implement process improvements and automation initiatives, and utilize DMAIC and 8D methodologies to analyze defects and implement corrective and preventive actions. Customer Quality & Compliance Management Manage customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, support customer audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and certification audits (IEC, ISO), while ensuring timely resolution of quality issues. Supplier Quality Management Lead supplier quality activities, including supplier qualification, PPAP approvals, process audits, product surveillance, and resolution of supplier quality, delivery, and non-conformance issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Cost Optimization Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Service teams to advance supplier development, implement mitigation actions, conduct COPQ analysis, and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and profitability. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality, testing, or power electronics manufacturing environments. Solid technical knowledge of UPS systems, power conditioning products, and high-power three-phase electrical applications, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and PCBAs for testing, validation, and defect analysis activities. Practical experience with quality methodologies and tools, including FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, and 8D Root-Cause Analysis. Practical experience with engineering tools and software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and PCBA programming for product development, testing, and analysis. Proficiency in using electrical test and measurement equipment, including power meters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and other diagnostic instruments for product validation and performance analysis. Deep familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods, along with problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on operational and quality gains.
