Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for Supports and Assists local unit in developing the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. Participates in the development and implementation of standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer. The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power Business to be based at NELAMANGALA, BANGALORE, India. You will be mainly accountable for: Quality, Safety & Compliance Assess operational risks and safety hazards, implement corrective measures, ensure compliance with all quality, production, and equipment safety requirements. Process Control & Validation Ensure torque verification, equipment calibration, and validation of production test systems while implementing effective control plans to mitigate process risks. Continuous Improvement & Project Execution Identify opportunities for improvement, oversee process enhancement projects, and advance operational excellence initiatives to boost quality and efficiency. Customer Support & Issue Resolution Support customer issue resolution, participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and act as an interface between the customer and internal teams during critical quality discussions. Quality Systems & Capability Development Provide quality training to local teams, implement APQP methodologies for new product introductions, and establish effective process management systems to ensure processes remain controlled and continuously improved. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and implement quality and operational excellence initiatives. Direct experience in electrical and mechanical testing, diagnosing and fixing problems, or assembly of electronic products and systems within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001:2015, IEEE standards, UL requirements, IEC 60947, EN 62040-3, along with proficiency in SAP systems. Practical experience with calibration and test equipment, non-conforming material disposition, layout testing parameters, wire continuity testing, HiPot (HV) testing, CT ratio testing, and power quality analysis. Prior experience working with Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear products and a good understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial applications. Detail-oriented professional with a solid background in structured problem solving and ongoing improvement, contributing to better quality and more efficient operations.
