THE ROLE: This position will be within a central organization and tasked with designing, establishing, and maintaining the architecture necessary for Client, Graphics, and Semi-Custom teams to efficiently manage and leverage their data resources. THE PERSON: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong architectural capabilities to join our team at AMD. This individual should also possess a strategic mindset to envision the long-term data architecture roadmap for various groups within the company. They will be capable of aligning data solutions with business goals, anticipating future data needs, and designing scalable architectures that support growth and innovation. The ideal candidate will be involved in the day-to-day implementation of data engineering solutions, able to prototype, lead other data engineers, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborating with stakeholders to gather data requirements and define data and analytics solutions. Evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and tools for data storage, processing, and analytics Implementing data integration, ETL processes, ML and data pipelines to ensure efficient data movement and transformation. Designing and implementing data architectures, including data models, databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and data lakehouses. Assist customer teams with analytics, including creating reports, building dashboards, and implementing machine learning pipelines. Monitoring data performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing data processes for efficiency and scalability. Evaluating emerging data technologies, tools, and platforms to determine their suitability for addressing the organization's data challenges and requirements PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Advanced experience in data management, database design, data modeling, and data architecture preferably within the semiconductor industry or related high-tech sectors Hands-on experience with a variety of ETL and database/warehousing/integration tools like Snowflake, Databricks, NiFi. Proficiency in PySpark/ Scala, SQL & Python. Experienced with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable (Azure is preferred). Experience working within semiconductor industry or related high-tech sectors Experience collaborating with international teams, particularly in China and India. Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code and CI/CD automation Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with semi-conductor engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred LOCATION: Austin, Texas This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. #LI-CB1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance .
