This position reports to: Service Operations Manager __ Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for process automation and control systems. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for this role is Hybrid #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Energy Industries Division in Perth, WA. Main stakeholders include Woodside, Chevron, Inpex, and Santos. You will be mainly accountable for:Ensuring projects are delivered within the boundaries of the specified project schedules Assisting the engineering team in building standard and custom process control solutions for customers efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements Working with customers to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements Providing technical engineering expertise to meet the requirements of ABB 800xA Control System upgrade projects, system expansions, and service offerings Providing process control improvement concepts through innovative thinking and deep process knowledge Acting as a technical lead and approving design deliverables Reviewing project documents for conformity, safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance requirements Coordinating with manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and service functions to ensure designs are appropriately manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned Developing RFQs to meet contractual requirements and evaluating suppliers' technical proposals Managing Bill of Materials (BOM) to meet contractual obligations and project profitability requirements You will join a talented, high-performing team where you will be able to thrive. Working closely with project managers, supply chain specialists, manufacturing teams, and customers, you will drive technical excellence in every project phase. Your role will involve coaching engineering colleagues on best practices, leading design reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the division. Qualifications for the RoleEngineering degree (or recognized equivalent) in an appropriate field More than 5 years' experience in multi-disciplinary electrical, automation, and control projects or service roles, working with ABB 800xA Control Systems Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools, including: Symphony +, Infi90, MOD300, Advant Master, Power Management Systems, and Modbus Communication and Networking IEC 62443 knowledge of cybersecurity in Process Automation systems Familiarity with cybersecurity experience (Beneficial) TÜV Functional Safety Qualified (Beneficial) Due to the nature of the work, including site commissioning and startup demands, and the international nature of these industries, short periods of domestic and international travel will be required More About UsThe Energy Industries Division serves a wide range of industrial sectors, including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation, and water.
