Job Description For our location in Brussels, we are currently recruiting a: About the position The Health Economic and Outcomes Research Manager will be responsible for collecting epidemiological and real-life data, designing and implementing economic research studies, developing health economics and budget impact models to demonstrate the value of the company’s priority products. The role will work closely with market access managers to support reimbursement submissions and price negotiations. You will be key in building strong, data-driven value stories that demonstrate the efficient use of healthcare resources and support product value propositions, including cost-effectiveness. You will also interact with external stakeholders such as vendors, data providers, KOLs, payer and policy makers. In addition, you will contribute to strategic planning and analyses during payer negotiations. You will identify solutions to collect real-world data to address existing data gaps. Once a solution has been identified, you will manage the project in line with internal and external requirements, including vendor qualification, the LDG process, and publication planning. Primary responsibilities Identify available data sources, including literature, international and national real-life data and local registries to support the clinical benefits of the company’s products; Define data gaps to support the economic value of our medicines and contribute early in drug life cycle in collaboration with the New Product Lead; Analyse data, build reports and publish results; Design and implement outcomes research & health economic studies to address evidence gaps and support key publications, reimbursement strategies, value dossiers, and submissions to various payers (primarily INAMI, and possibly other payers); Develop and write the economic sections of reimbursement submissions to a high standard and within deadlines; Develop or adapt robust data-based models and tools to support access and policy strategy for Belgium and Luxembourg, and possibly marketing activities; Contribute to the development of technical expertise within the team and company; Work in a cross-functional environment with internal stakeholders (Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Business, Innovation,…) , as well as external stakeholders (Scientific Societies, Scientific experts, Pharmacists Associations, Sick funds, INAMI/RIZIV, KCE, other policy stakeholders …); Leverage the external data ecosystem to identify practical solutions to address data gaps; Contribute to strategic planning during payer negotiations; Your profile Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific field; Experience in Health Outcomes Research and in conducting CE analyses and budget impact models; Experience developing models in Excel, including cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, and budget impact models; Good knowledge of the market access environment, preferably in Belgium; Knowledge of the Healthcare industry including the pharmaceutical industry (market access, medical, clinical research) is an asset; Strong expertise in medical science, epidemiology, clinical trials, pharmacoeconomics including a deep understanding of research methods, health economics, and related disciplines is an asset; Interest in the data landscape, including EHDS, OHDSI, HDA, and similar initiatives; Experience with public databases and registries is an asset; Proven ability to perform complex analyses and produce clear recommendations and reports; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and economic reasoning skills; Strong ability to influence and negotiate with access stakeholders; Strong collaborative mindset; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Dutch and French are a plus Required Skills: Adaptability, Adaptability, Clinical Research, Cost Effectiveness Analysis, Data Analysis, Direct Marketing, Economic Research, Epidemiology, Healthcare Reimbursement, Health Economic Modeling, Health Economics, Health Economics Research, Health Outcomes Research, Health Policy Analysis, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Interpersonal Relationships, Market Access, Market Research, Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacotherapeutics, Pharmacotherapy, Pricing Processes {+ 2 more} Preferred Skills: Current Employees apply HERE Current Contingent Workers apply HERE Search Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
