We are seeking an Onsite Service Engineer to join our new Proton Therapy Service Team at Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla in Santander, Spain. The Role As an Onsite Service Engineer, you will play a key role in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of a state-of-the-art Proton Therapy System. Proton Therapy is an advanced form of cancer treatment that uses particle accelerator technology to precisely target tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary onsite team throughout both the construction and clinical phases of the project, helping to ensure maximum system performance, reliability, and patient treatment availability. Onsite team will be a combination of highly skilled experts bringing together individual expertise to form a strong team capable of operating independently. Flexibility to work rotating shifts is required to support equipment availability during clinical operating hours. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, support, and maintain cutting-edge medical equipment within both construction and live clinical environments. Perform system testing, validation, and acceptance activities in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems. Monitor system performance and respond effectively to equipment faults and operational issues. Work closely with clinical, engineering, and operational teams to maximize system uptime and reliability. Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and performance reports. Ensure compliance with all company policies related to safety, quality, regulatory standards, and continuous improvement. Your Qualifications and Experience Essential Master's Degree, Engineering Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification. Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn complex technologies. Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
