Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Purpose: The Manager of Preclinical Research will be involved in the strategic development and growth of the preclinical research required to fuel the Electrophysiology and Cardiac Imaging portfolio and engage in partnership with Research and Development (R&D), Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA), and Clinical Affairs (CA). Under limited supervision, in collaboration with the preclinical research team members and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: You will be responsible for: Serving as a preclinical research representative for new product development projects. The main responsibilities include being the medical core team member on all product development project teams. Lead generation of the preclinical evidence strategy to support clinical claims and participates in characterizing the product's capabilities and clinical workflows in collaboration with the Marketing, R&D, and other development team members. Working with Medical Business Partners; R&D, Clinical Science, Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Regulatory Compliance, Health Economics & Market Access and Professional Medical Education. Ensuring the development and execution of product development project deliverables Assists in communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level Support early product introduction to the market by supporting launches, case support, as well as internal and external training. Prepare and/or manage preparation of presentations and manuscripts around preclinical data Qualifications / Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor Degree is required, Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD), Master of Science or PhD are preferred. A minimum 8 years relevant experience; 4 of which are in Healthcare industry is required. Large animal model preclinical experience is highly preferred Previous industry experience working with Medical/Clinical/R&D teams in a highly regulated, commercial medical device business is highly preferred. Significant experience with preclinical and clinical research is required. Demonstrated success in medical data generation, interpretation and preclinical testing is highly preferred. The candidate must have strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with internal and external partners globally. Strong communication and negotiation skills are needed to successfully influence and implement policy with key customers and partners.
