Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Summary: The R&D Lab Systems Scientist will be responsible for supporting enhancements within our LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LV LIMS). You will support a multi-functional team with GxP testing support spanning analytical, physical, and optical methods. You will be an integral member of the R&D Operations team. You will partner closely with key business partners including R&D, IT, and Quality Assurance to deliver on business goals and objectives. This role entails working in a medical device environment and applying GxP knowledge to deliver innovative solutions to the business. You will act as an advocate for continuous improvement of technology and processes with LV LIMS, improving user experience, and adhering to quality policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Accountable for troubleshooting, assist system users, support developers in verifying user requirements are properly translated, execute user acceptance testing, and provide suggestions to improve user experience Support multiple enhancement-based projects and cross-functional project teams Support project plans to meet timelines and budgets Develop an in-depth understanding of contact lens manufacturing processes Build positive relationships with other business functions across R&D Ensure all activities follow GMP, ISO, and quality system requirements Ensure that all health, safety and environmental requirements are fulfilled Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Biomedical engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry) with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience OR a Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science field. Knowledge and experience with LIMS development and enhancements Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and be flexible to different work schedules as needed by the business Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on own initiative Strong technical writing skills and ability to present work clearly and with the appropriate content for the given audience Good interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with proven leadership abilities Preferred: Experience within regulated medical device or pharmaceutical industry Experience with LIMS Working experience with external suppliers International collaboration experience #LI-AM2 Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
