Apply today for this exciting opportunity! This role will advise the development of end-to-end leadership in a meaningful portfolio in the Primary Packaging space for JNJ Innovative Medicine. This includes strategy development, crafting key relationships within the business and leading key supplier relationships. This role covers the end-to-end scope (including development, through commercial to base business management) of the complex Primary Packaging space, and requires a PG31 Global Category Senior Manager with excellent procurement and eye for business to lead this space in a compelling manner. There is a possibility for the role to evolve in the near future to encompass a greater scope, including potential for people management opportunities. Key responsibilities:Develop and implement end-to-end Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs including sourcing strategy, negotiations, contract implementation and performance against established targets (Cost drivers, risk analysis, mitigation, analytics, applicability / of category value creation). Lead key supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, implement joint collaborative initiatives, and supervise supplier contract negotiations. Relationships are with senior executives at the supplier end. Is a great partner with key internal senior stakeholders, both in Supply Chain and R&D. Connect with, influence and develop the agenda with key internal Supply Chain and R&D stakeholders regarding the appropriate supplier selection for upcoming NPDs and NPIs. Lead & prioritize portfolio of Procurement segment specific initiatives and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership. Potentially manage a team in the near future depending on the evolution of the category space. QualificationsHigh level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (Category Management, Supplier Performance and Relationship Management, Supply market Analysis, Should-Cost Modelling, Negotiations, Contracting, etc) Strong experience in Primary Packaging Strong experience in Regulated Markets – e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, etc Expertise in contracting, understanding regulatory, legal, compliance and commercial elements Internal Stakeholder Management, including building and maintaining positive relationships with JNJ Senior Management Strong leadership, vision and strategy setting, communication, influencing, teamwork and talent development skills Strong project and organizational change capabilities Multi-country and Multi-Sector experience preferred with experience across geographies, sectors and industries Expert negotiation skills, ideally with formal education or training in negotiations Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present sophisticated topics Judgment in developing innovative approaches and resolving issues Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., Business Platforms, Finance, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); Has Leadership Presence Consistent track record in leading cross-functional teams and performing significant influencing roles Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization can effectively and efficiently move through transitions Strong people management and coaching skills, with proven experience of influencing direct reports, team members, peers and internal stakeholders EducationMinimum of a Bachelor’s / University or equivalent degree is required MBA or equivalent Master’s Degree is helpful Experience and Skills:Required: Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (Category Management, Supplier Performance and Relationship Management, Supply market Analysis, Should-Cost Modelling, Negotiations, Contracting, etc) Strong Procurement background, preferably in the Primary Packaging domain Strong experience in Regulated Markets – e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, etc Expert negotiation skills, ideally with formal education or training in negotiations Strong people management and coaching skills, with proven experience of influencing direct reports, team members, peers and internal stakeholders Please refer to “Qualifications” section above for more details Required Skills: Preferred Skills: Advanced Analytics, Business Data Analysis, Business Savvy, Category Management Strategy, Competitive Landscape Analysis, Contract Management, Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), Critical Thinking, Leadership, Market Savvy, Mentorship, Negotiation, Organizing, Performance Measurement, Process Improvements, Relationship Building, Risk Management, Spend Analysis, Strategic Thinking, Supplier Collaboration, Sustainable Procurement, Technical Credibility, Vendor Selection
