The analytical development organization for large biological molecules (e.g., antibodies and cell and gene therapy compounds) in Schaffhausen provides highly specialized and unique support in the areas of marketed products, fill-finish pilot plant analytics, and device characterization. In this organization, we offer an outstanding opportunity for a Experienced Scientist (100%) In this position, you are responsible for further developing the center of excellence (CoE) in the field of material identification and characterization for cell and gene therapy related drug products. Your dedication and customer focus are critical to ensuring high-quality, technically profound, and timely investigations in a dynamic R&D and commercial environment. After thorough on-the-job training, you will be responsible for conducting material defect and particle investigations using highly specialized and state-of-the-art technologies. You will also execute and report the corresponding analyses in a GMP-regulated environment by understanding the process and urgency of supporting analytical investigations in the CoE for material and particle identification. Responsibilities: Conduct analysis using high-end spectroscopy instruments and optical equipment such as FT-IR, SEM-EDX and various types of light microscopes. Experience with the safety aspects and handling of biosafety class 2 compounds. Contribute to technically sound and concise analytical reports and prepare technical presentations. Take over responsibilities for selected instruments, including coordinating maintenance and troubleshooting. Issue and periodically review work instructions and standard operating procedures. Communicate with internal customers and external suppliers. Work in a team-oriented environment and actively promote a culture of delivery and innovation. Profile: For this position, we are looking for an experienced, flexible, and team-oriented person with a high customer focus, excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the following hard skills: Experienced analyst or scientist with a strong practical analytical background in spectroscopy and microscopy. Work experience in a GxP-regulated industry (e.g., food or pharmaceutical), ideally with SAP as a platform. Ideally, experience in machine learning and software solutions for analytical applications. Eager to become a technical subject matter expert in the field of material science, gain practical experience, and take on more responsibilities over time. Firm verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
