We currently have six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Please note any offer of employment for this position is conditional upon the successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening, conducted by a medical practitioner designated by the Company Role-Specific Responsibilities: Operational Technology (OT) EngineeringThe Senior Technical Engineer, Operational Technology (OT), is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the site's industrial data infrastructure, with primary responsibility for the AVEVA PI System and associated Operational Technology platforms. This role acts as the technical authority for industrial data acquisition, historian technologies, OT systems integration and supporting infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure and compliant data availability to manufacturing, engineering, quality and business stakeholders. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and administer the AVEVA PI System environment, including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, Interfaces and Connectors. Ensure high availability, performance, reliability and lifecycle management of OT systems supporting manufacturing and utility operations. Design, implement and maintain data acquisition solutions connecting PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS platforms, utilities and process equipment to enterprise data platforms. Manage OT server infrastructure, including virtual and physical servers, storage, backups, disaster recovery and system patching in accordance with site and corporate standards. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of data collection, historian, infrastructure and connectivity issues, coordinating with automation, IT, cybersecurity and vendor support teams as required. Define and maintain OT system architecture, standards, documentation and asset models to ensure scalable and sustainable solutions. Deliver OT projects and enhancements from concept through deployment, including requirements gathering, design, testing, commissioning and lifecycle support. Support manufacturing digitalization initiatives by enabling access to trusted operational data for reporting, analytics, KPI development and advanced data science applications. Ensure OT systems comply with applicable cybersecurity, data integrity, quality and regulatory requirements. Monitor system health, performance and capacity, proactively identifying risks and implementing improvement opportunities. Manage relationships with AVEVA and other technology vendors to support issue resolution, upgrades and strategic roadmap development. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and cross-functional teams on industrial data systems, OT infrastructure and best practices. Preferred Technical ExperienceAVEVA PI System administration and support. Industrial control systems including PLC, SCADA and DCS platforms. Industrial networking and communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus, MQTT and Ethernet/IP. Windows Server administration, virtualization technologies and infrastructure management. Data integration, historian technologies and manufacturing systems. OT cybersecurity principles and regulated manufacturing environments. Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other highly regulated industrial operations. Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software), or related discipline. 5+ years of in a similar position, including systems integration experience/integrating all system components (electrical, mechanical, software), system architecture, requirement/user need gathering. Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate information from varied disciplines and work within a highly regulated environment Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software), or related discipline. Experience working in the medical device industry Success MeasuresHigh availability and reliability of AVEVA PI and associated OT systems.
