Project Director, Capital Projects Location: This role is based in Parma, Italy. We manufacture and supply reliable, high-quality medicines and vaccines to meet patients’ needs and drive our performance. Our network of 37 medicines and vaccines manufacturing sites delivered 1.7 billion packs of medicines and 409 million vaccine doses in 2024 to help make a positive impact on the health of millions of people. Position Summary Are you ready to lead and manage large complex capital projects? As a Project Director at GSK, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and navigating the complexities of highly regulated environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end delivery of high-value capital projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, health, safety and environmental requirements are met. Build and lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage external contractors and suppliers to achieve agreed outcomes. Develop and maintain integrated project plans, budgets and risk registers, and provide regular status reporting to stakeholders. Ensure engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and qualification activities follow regulatory and internal standards. Drive stakeholder engagement and clear project communications, supporting business change and readiness for handover to operations. Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business and organizational strategies including ensuring the delivery of fully compliant, validated systems and facilities. Lead governance, compliance, and risk frameworks across projects. Provide coaching and guidance to team members and support capability building in project management practices. Why you?Basic Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Considerable experience managing complex capital projects in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Extensive knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and validation processes. Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Solid experience in project management tools and methodologies, project planning, risk management, contract management and change control. Fluent in English and Italian; comfort working across international teams. Preferred Qualifications & Skills: MSc or additional qualification in Engineering/Construction Management or a related field Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) Experience with validation, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and regulated commissioning.
