Our Purpose The Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) OU is committed to excellence in innovation and commercialization to pursue our vision and long-term business growth. The ACM OU R&D organization is refining its product delivery, innovation, and commercialization approach to enable product leadership across all segments of our product portfolio. This will require enhancing our innovation processes as well as refining our design and delivery approaches to deliver an integrated and comprehensive portfolio that enables product development excellence across ACM. The Principal Project Manager plays a pivotal role in directing cross-functional teams to bring advanced Airways products to market. Within ACM, the Airways portfolio encompasses industry-leading product lines, such as ShileyTM endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes as well as DARTM breathing systems. These products are designed to protect and manage the patient’s airway with proven solutions to address nearly any anatomy or patient need. This role oversees all aspects of project management for the development and advancement of new airways product solutions within this portfolio. The position prioritizes effective collaboration, nurtures an inclusive culture, and focuses on continuous process improvement to foster innovation while achieving business objectives. This role is based out of Athlone, Ireland. Come for a job, stay for a career! A Day in The Life Of: Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Leads or leverages cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders. Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems. Technical Specialist Career Stream: An individual contributor with responsibility in technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills. Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager. Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower level specialists. May manage large projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area. Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and/or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems, or products independently to enhance performance of job area. Implements solutions to problems. Communication and Influence: Represents organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels. May negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making. Leadership and Talent Management: Typically provides guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area. Typically manages major / moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader. Key Skills & Experience Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience Nice to Have Knowledge and Experience: Proven experience leading large-scale new product development projects that require navigating technical, regulatory, and quality risks while driving strategic decisions around project schedule, resources, budget, and scope. Experience launching products in the medical device industry or other heavily regulated industries. Strong influence management skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders at all levels to build consensus and alignment. Experience working across global teams and in matrixed organizations. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in environments of uncertainty and change, with the capability to define clear paths forward, set strategic priorities, and drive results despite unclear or evolving circumstances. Working Environment Frequent Interaction: Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for leading cross-functional discussions, negotiating priorities, and maintaining stakeholder engagement. Flexible Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as needed to support program initiatives, partner engagement, or executive meetings, domestically and internationally. Dynamic Leadership: Ability to lead teams and projects in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments while maintaining focus on long-term objectives and program goals, especially for released product management or sustaining engineering projects.
