We offer you a position where you will support and develop selected accounts in a sales territory covering hospitals around Johannesburg, promoting Medical Surgical solutions across complex procedures including bariatric, colorectal, advanced energy, and hysteroscopic tissue removal procedures. This role requires a motivated sales professional who can build strong customer relationships, support account growth, and provide procedure support when needed, ensuring customers receive consistent clinical, product, and workflow support across the territory. This role reports directly to the Sales Manager. Regular travel is expected across the Johannesburg hospital territory. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Promote and sell Medtronic Medical Surgical solutions across hospitals within the Johannesburg territory to meet or exceed sales targets Provide direct in-theatre support during Medical Surgical procedures when required, offering product, technical, and workflow guidance to clinical teams in complex cases such as bariatric, colorectal, advanced energy, and hysteroscopic tissue removal procedures Take ownership for procedure support within the territory when needed, while working closely with relevant clinical and technical support teams to coordinate coverage and drive adoption of Medical Surgical solutions, including capital equipment such as electrosurgical generator systems, smoke evacuation platforms, energy-based surgical systems, and hysteroscopic tissue removal systems Develop and grow strategic relationships with surgeons, theatre staff, hospital decision makers, and procurement stakeholders to expand access, support account plans, and drive sustainable territory growth Deliver product education, clinical in-servicing, and solution-based presentations to customers; support evaluations, conversions, and the implementation of Medical Surgical technologies within assigned accounts Collaborate closely with Sales Representative colleagues selling other products within the Medtronic Medical Surgical portfolio in the same accounts, aligning priorities and opportunity plans to maximize growth Maintain accurate product forecasts and standard sales projections based on sales opportunities, customer trends, market share data, territory plans, pipeline activity, and customer engagement records in SFDC (or the agreed CRM), while monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (Life Sciences, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience Relevant sales and/or clinical support experience in medical devices at Sales Rep II level, preferably within Medical Surgical sales or procedure support across areas such as bariatric, colorectal, advanced energy, and hysteroscopic tissue removal. Exposure to capital equipment is desirable, including electrosurgical generator systems, smoke evacuation platforms, energy-based surgical systems, hysteroscopic tissue removal systems, and other Medical Surgical capital technologies. Professional fluency in the required local language(s) and English, in writing and speech Strong stakeholder management, relationship building, and communication skills; able to influence multiple decision makers Team player with strong negotiation skills; able to work cross-functionally with sales reps and capital partners Ability to work independently, manage territory priorities, and travel regularly Full clean driver’s license (as required for the territory) We value clinical and/or technical background but also experience in the OR environment.
