Job Description The Procurement Specialist role offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering projects in a category renowned for driving world-class innovation, without being limited to a single category. The incumbent will lead the local implementation of strategic sourcing across direct, indirect and capital spend, ensuring that quality-compliant components and equipment are delivered on time to our manufacturing sites at the best overall cost, while managing supplier relationships within the Animal Health Manufacturing Division. In keeping with our entrepreneurial culture, the role also provides opportunities to support global initiatives, work with multidisciplinary teams, and lead cross-department and cross-functional programs. The Procurement Specialist will play an active role in executing the global procurement strategy and shaping the local one — spanning category management, contract management, risk management, stakeholder management, and supplier value management. Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to): Direct Materials Sourcing – Source primary, secondary and tertiary materials, as well as sterile manufacturing equipment (bioreactors, filling equipment, process vessels, etc.). Indirect Products & Services Sourcing – Source indirect products and services, with a particular focus on site facility management and professional services (cleaning, security, and various consultancy services). Innovation – Translate the technical requirements of operations into strategic sourcing solutions. Stakeholder Management – Provide functional leadership, strategy and policy guidance, and build a high-performance engagement model with business stakeholders. Performance – Drive competitive sourcing events (RFIs & RFPs) and support vendor selection, commercial negotiation, and market awareness. Procurement Operations – Own contract management execution and archiving, KPI definition, and stakeholder support on procurement policies and processes. Supplier Value Management – Deploy Supplier Value Management with key suppliers to foster innovation, manage supplier performance, establish a governance model, and ensure continuous improvement. Miscellaneous – Support other areas of the business as required, including but not limited to: Capital Spend SAP ERP ARIBA Source-to-Settle functionality ARAVO Supplier Risk Assessment Education Minimum Requirement: B.A. or B.S. degree preferably in Business, Economics, Science or Engineering. Required Experience and Skills: 3 to 5 years of industry experience. Thrives in entrepreneurial environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills. Has demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and team building abilities and sensitivity to diverse cultures. Must posses the ability to work independently with minimal coaching. Able to be the one face of Animal Health to the external party. Preferred Experience and Skills: • Animal Health or Pharmaceutical industry experience. • Background in strategic sourcing and /or background in sterile process manufacturing. • Do not be afraid of managing multiple simultaneous and complex projects requiring frequent communication, organizing/time management and problem solving skills. • Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and manage the change required to execute. • Knowledge of technology sourcing activities including RFP development, bid response evaluation, and contract negotiations. • Negotiating and contracting skills essential; global experience. • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with ambiguous and dynamic situation. • Ability to work with senior management with professionalism and discretion. • Experience working with internal legal operations. • Demonstrated ability to work well with people from many different disciplines.
