Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to: Analyze failure root cause of RMA returns Investigate cause of new product failures Determine cause of yield excursions Work with Design, Application, process, product and package engineering to identify the failure root cause and propose corrective actions Write technical reports with failure analysis findings and distribute it to the team Meet ADI’s failure analysis cycle time and quality commitments Develop new techniques for analyzing failures Take ownership for a piece of failure analysis equipment; and keep it running Mentor young engineers in the group Minimum Qualifications: Engineering, Physics, or Science degree with semiconductor emphasis. BS + 7yrs or MS + 5Yrs of experience. Experience in Failure Analysis, Product, Design, Application, Fab Process or Test Engineering. Strong understating of Analog and mixed signal circuit analysis. Strong understanding of diode and transistor device physics. Ability to read schematics and layout. Knowledge of Failure Analysis Tools and Techniques: Optical microscopy, X-ray, EMMI, OBIRCH, ELITE and Microprobing. Experience with using electrical bench equipment: Curve tracer, Voltage Sources, Current loads, oscilloscopes, source meter, function generator etc. Good Understanding of FIB operation, parallel lapping, chemical deprocessing, and other physical failure analysis activities. Good English oral and written communication skills Good troubleshooting skills Fab and/or assembly process experience a plus Chemistry lab experience is a plus For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Job Req Type: Experienced Required Travel: No Shift Type: 1st Shift/Days The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $130,168 to $188,490.Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
