Job Description: Job Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality Control/Assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned Business groups/Divisions for product development, manufacturing, supplier quality, and customer support processes. This role ensures compliance with applicable quality management systems, regulatory standards, and customer requirements while supporting defect reduction, process capability improvement, and operational excellence. The position also plays a key role in complaint resolution, audit management, inspection oversight, and quality performance reporting. Key Responsibilities Lead quality activities across all stages of new product development and support effective quality planning during product and process introduction. Define quality requirements, establish quality standards, and validate core quality processes including PPAP and APQP. Analyse critical customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 7 QC Tools, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma techniques. Liaise directly with customers for complaint resolution and ensure timely and effective closure of issues. Drive Lean Six Sigma Green Belt projects focused on quality improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings. Compile, monitor, and analyse monthly quality KPIs including Customer DPPM, COPQ, NCR, Yield, and Customer Complaints, and present findings to senior management. Develop and implement Supplier Quality Improvement Plans (SQIP) and conduct Gemba visits to address supplier and process-related quality concerns. Manage incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection activities to ensure product conformity and process adherence. Generate daily QA MIS reports and provide visibility on plant quality performance. Support inhouse and customer quality inspection operations, including laboratory management, inspection discipline, and adherence to quality procedures. Perform process audits, product audits, dock audits, and legal metrology audits; coordinate closure of non-conformances with Engineering and Production teams. Conduct MSA and SPC studies on the shop floor in coordination with inspection and production teams. Facilitate corrective and preventive actions based on audit findings, customer complaints, process deviations, and internal rejections. Conduct regular meetings with area owners to review quality issues and drive improvements in in-house and incoming rejection levels. Provide training to operators, inspectors, and shop floor personnel on QMS requirements, quality tools, inspection methods, and software usage. Ensure compliance with applicable management system standards and regulatory requirements including IATF 16949: 2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018. Support calibration activities and ensure proper handling and testing of chemicals and inspection-related equipment where applicable. Represent the plant in interactions with business leaders, customers, auditors, suppliers, and external stakeholders on quality-related matters. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred moreover bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is acceptable. Proven experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing quality within an industrial or production environment. Strong working knowledge of quality core tools including PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC. Hands-on experience in handling customer complaints and applying problem-solving tools such as 8D, 7 QC Tools, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience in managing incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities. Knowledge of process audits, product audits, and non-conformance closure processes. Familiarity with quality KPI reporting and analysis, including metrics such as DPPM, COPQ, NCR, Yield, and customer complaints. Working knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using quality and data analysis tools such as Power BI and Minitab. Strong communication, coordination, and team management skills. Preferred Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Experience in supplier quality management and supplier development activities. Experience in Gemba walks and shop floor-based quality improvement initiatives. Exposure to laboratory management, legal metrology audits, and calibration systems. Experience in chemical handling, chemical testing, or related compliance requirements, where applicable. Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate quality performance to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
