The PositionThe Opportunity The Data and Analytics Governance (DAG) Data Steward is a key role responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and proper usage of data, and enabling effective data & analytics governance practices for Roche’s Digital Backbone; working closely with cross-functional teams in ASPIRE program, Roche Data Insights (RDI) Initiative, Informatics, Enterprise Master Data Management (EMDM) to ensure the consistent application of DAG policies, standards, and controls. Maintain Metadata Accuracy: Ensure business and technical metadata in the Finance Data Domain (e.g., Collibra, SAP Datasphere) is accurate, consistent, and easy to discover. Align with Governance Standards: Act as a liaison between business and IT to implement and enforce Data& Analytics Governance frameworks and metadata methodologies. Standardize Data Cataloging: Collaborate with data product owners and SMEs to define, document, and standardize business terms and reference data definitions. Track Data Lineage & Fill Gaps: Map end-to-end data lineage to support traceability, impact analysis, and compliance while resolving gaps that affect data quality. Drive Adoption & Enablement: Engage stakeholders through training and workshops to raise awareness, literacy, and adoption of metadata tools and processes. Monitor Quality & Continuous Improvement: Proactively track metadata quality metrics and refine management processes to adapt to evolving business and technology needs. Leverage Automation & AI: Help optimize metadata tooling through automation, AI-driven metadata augmentation, and integration with broader analytics platforms. Who you are Education & Experience: Master’s degree in IT, Business Management, or a related field, paired with 5+ years in data management, data governance, or analytics. Technical & Architectural Expertise: Solid understanding of data architecture, modeling, Data Mesh principles, and decentralized domain ownership, plus hands-on experience with governance tools like Collibra. Stakeholder & Leadership Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and facilitation abilities to engage, influence, and align mid-to-senior stakeholders across teams. Project & Priority Management: Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and priorities effectively. Continuous Innovation: Proactive mindset for staying ahead of evolving data and AI trends to future-proof organizational governance methodologies.
