Job Function: Finance Job Sub Function: Accounting Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Taguig, National Capital Region (Manila), Philippines Job Description: Senior Accountant 1, Global Cash, Currency & HedgingRequisition ID: R-017664 Job Function: Finance Job Sub Function: Account to Report (A2R) Job Category: Professional Location: Manila, Philippines Pay Grade: 24 Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant 1 – Global Cash, Currency & Hedging is responsible for executing accounting, reporting, and reconciliation activities related to global cash management, foreign currency accounting, and hedging processes. The role partners closely with Treasury, Corporate Finance, Business Unit Finance, Controllers, and other Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong compliance, and effective execution of key financial controls. This position supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities while driving operational excellence, process improvements, and standardization initiatives across global markets. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & ReportingPerform accounting activities related to cash, foreign currency, and hedging transactions. Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies and US GAAP requirements. Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. Analyze financial results and investigate unusual balances or variances. Support preparation of financial reports and management reporting requirements. Reconciliations & Close ManagementPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts. Monitor aged reconciling items and drive timely resolution. Investigate and resolve accounting exceptions, out-of-balance conditions, and discrepancies. Ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready. Coordinate close activities with regional and global stakeholders. Currency & Hedging OperationsSupport foreign currency remeasurement and revaluation processes. Perform activities related to hedge accounting, hedge effectiveness, and OCI-related accounting entries. Investigate and resolve foreign exchange variances. Partner with Treasury and finance teams regarding currency and hedging transactions. Support execution of currency-related controls and reporting requirements. Controls, Compliance & AuditExecute SOX and internal control activities in accordance with corporate requirements. Maintain process documentation and control evidence. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards. Identify risks and support remediation activities where necessary. Stakeholder ManagementPartner with Treasury, Controllers, BUF teams, and other Finance stakeholders. Communicate issues proactively and provide timely status updates on critical deliverables. Support issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives. Build effective working relationships across global teams and functions. Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process efficiency. Participate in finance transformation and digitalization initiatives. Contribute to process documentation, knowledge sharing, and training activities. Support implementation of system enhancements and process improvements. QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related business discipline. Minimum 3 years of accounting, financial reporting, treasury, or cash management experience. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. PreferredCertified Public Accountant (CPA). Experience in a multinational corporation or shared services environment. Exposure to Treasury, Cash & Bank, Foreign Currency, or Hedging processes. Experience supporting SOX compliance and audit activities. Knowledge of SAP and financial systems. Experience participating in process improvement or automation initiatives.
