Role and responsibilities Your mission is focused on (but not limited to!) our Environmental Sustainability Themes, Energy Efficiency & Climate Action, and Circular Economy. Help ASML succeed in its ambition for both themes, with ambitious target years! Over the past years, we already succeeded in substantially reducing our emissions and the amount of waste we generate, and now need to scale up efforts to achieve further reductions. On climate, we aim to become Greenhouse Gas neutral by: Reduce: avoid emissions by reducing the use of energy (or materials) Renew: for our remaining energy need, use renewable sources Compensate: for our remaining emissions, use offsets through selected projects On circular economy, we aim to eliminate waste by: Prevent by ensuring our designs and the way we source supports our ambition Extend lifetime & productivity of system to maximize resource value Reuse resources within our own value chain, to minimize product related waste streams Recycle materials to give resources a new life, if we can no longer reuse resources ourselves In this context, in close collaboration with teams across ASML, your responsibilities will be to: Co-lead the work to mature parts of both our Climate and Circular Economy vision, strategic/material topics, and KPI framework Ensure our Climate Transition Plan (CTP) is well-implemented, and an equivalent plan is developed for circular economy Identify improvement opportunities, develop strategic roadmaps and drive initiatives, across our emission categories and waste streams Collaborate with our Sector/Business Line stakeholders to (1) embed and prioritize the work needed to accelerate progress and (2) further detail the identified improvement opportunities to reduce emissions and waste Update and maintain our policies Education and experience 10+ years of relevant experience in Sustainability / Climate / Circular Economy strategy, preferably in a corporate, technology-related environment and consulting background. Relevant academic degree, e.g. Sustainability Management, Strategic Management, or Science and Technology Studies. Demonstrated success in developing and delivering sustainability, climate and circularity strategies, programs and partnerships Experienced in working with diverse set of stakeholders, e.g. across engineers, operations, sales, supply chain teams, up to senior leadership Systems thinker with strong business sense, delivery capability and communication skills (Sustainability) Strategy consulting background is a ‘pre’ – either as consultant or in-house Advanced English skills This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven individual who thrives on establishing and managing sustainability in a technically innovative environment. Other information You will be part of the ESG Sustainability Strategy team, working in close collaboration with our Program Management team and stakeholders in the business. You will report to the Team Lead on Environmental Sustainability Strategy. Our team is based in Veldhoven, we have adopted hybrid working: we work both from the office and from home.
