The Goods Inwards Inspector is responsible for the inspection and verification of incoming parts, materials, and components to ensure conformance with purchase order requirements, engineering specifications, and applicable regulatory standards prior to release into production or stores. This role is a critical control point in preventing non-conforming material from entering the manufacturing process. This position reports to the Quality Manager and is part of the Quality team located in Redruth, Cornwall, and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Inspect and verify incoming parts, materials, and components against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards using appropriate inspection and test equipment. Review and validate all required delivery documentation, including certificates of conformity, material certifications, test reports, and traceability records, ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements. Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming material, raise NCRs in accordance with company procedures, and maintain part and material traceability through effective batch and lot control processes. The essential requirements of the job include: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Competent use of inspection and measuring equipment (e.g. callipers, micrometers, gauges; CMM experience advantageous) Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation review It would be a plus if you also possess: A formal technical or quality qualification Experience in a goods inwards, incoming inspection, or quality inspection role, ideally within aerospace, defence, or other regulated manufacturing environment Additional Information: A willingness to work reasonable overtime in line with business needs.
