THE ROLE: AMD is seeking an experienced Senior Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) to lead customer quality engagements for strategic Data Center and AI Accelerator customers. The CQE serves as the primary quality interface between AMD and key hyperscale, enterprise, OEM, and ODM customers, driving customer satisfaction, field quality improvement, reliability performance, issue resolution, and quality leadership throughout the product lifecycle. This highly visible customer-facing role requires strong technical expertise, quality engineering experience, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, Sales, Customer Engineering, Field Application Engineering, Product Line Quality, Product Engineering, Reliability, Design, Manufacturing, Operations, and Failure Analysis organizations to drive rapid issue resolution, customer satisfaction, and continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to successfully navigate complex customer environments, lead critical escalations, and drive quality outcomes across multiple organizations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Quality Leadership Serve as the primary quality owner for assigned customer accounts, representing AMD Quality in customer engagements and acting as the Voice of the Customer within AMD. Drive customer satisfaction through proactive quality management, responsiveness, technical leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Build trusted relationships with customer quality, reliability, engineering, manufacturing, and executive teams. Escalation and Crisis Management Lead customer quality escalations, field reliability events, and high-visibility technical issues. Establish and lead cross-functional task forces to drive containment actions, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and customer communication plans. Provide executive-level status updates and drive accountability across multiple organizations to ensure timely issue resolution and customer recovery Data Center Reliability and Quality Analytics Monitor and analyze customer quality metrics including DPPM, AFR, RMA rates, field reliability performance, Weibull projections, and failure mode Pareto trends. Identify emerging product and customer quality risks through statistical analysis and reliability trending. Drive data-driven decision making using AMD quality analytics platforms, dashboards, and reporting tools. Develop and present quality insights, trends, and improvement recommendations to customers and AMD leadership Customer Quality Reviews and Executive Communications Lead Quarterly Quality Reviews (QQRs), customer scorecard reviews, executive business reviews, and quality strategy discussions. Translate complex technical findings into clear customer-facing and executive-level communications. Drive quality improvement plans based on customer feedback, scorecards, field performance, and business objectives. Present quality performance, corrective actions, and risk assessments to both customer leadership teams and AMD executives PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in semiconductor, electronics, server, AI accelerator, data center, or cloud infrastructure industries. Experience in Customer Quality Engineering, Product Quality, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, Failure Analysis, Customer Engineering, Technical Support, or related functions. Proven experience supporting hyperscale cloud providers, OEMs, ODMs, and large enterprise accounts. Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, qualification, reliability, packaging, test operations, and field quality management. Experience managing customer scorecards, DPPM targets, AFR metrics, field failure performance, reliability trends, and quality improvement initiatives. Experience leading customer escalations, executive communications, and cross-functional problem-solving efforts. Familiarity with quality methodologies including 8D, RCA, FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, and statistical problem-solving techniques. Experience with reliability analytics, Weibull analysis, field return analysis, and failure trending is highly desirable. Experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL reporting platforms, or similar data analytics and visualization tools. Experience with server platforms, x86 processors, GPUs, AI accelerators, advanced packaging technologies, FPGAs, adaptive computing, or embedded products is highly desirable. Excellent communication, presentation, customer-facing, and executive engagement skills. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
