The Therapeutic Area (TA) Enabling Innovation team is uniquely positioned to deliver data, workflow, and knowledge solutions that accelerate scientific discovery and enable evidence-driven decision-making across the research-to-development continuum. By connecting experimental data, computational workflows, and institutional knowledge, we are advancing how scientists design experiments, generate insights, and translate findings into therapeutic impact. In close partnership with scientific teams and the broader IM JJT organization, we develop and scale next-generation platforms and capabilities that improve speed, quality, and reproducibility across drug development. About the Role The Technical Lead, Therapeutic Area Enabling Innovation role partners closely with Product Managers to define and deliver scalable, high-impact technology solutions that support scientific workflows and data-driven research. The individual will operate at the intersection of laboratory science, data engineering, cloud platforms, AI/ML, and knowledge management, helping bridge instrument-generated laboratory data through analytical workflows into decision-ready scientific knowledge. This includes capabilities spanning instrument connectivity, experimental workflows, multi-omics analytics, knowledge graphs, AI-enabled discovery, and translational research platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong solution architect and technical leader with experience in data-intensive environments, capable of guiding teams through design decisions, evaluating tradeoffs, and enabling delivery of reliable, scalable products. This role is accountable for ensuring that technical solutions support business outcomes while aligning to enterprise standards and long-term product strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead technical solutioning for Therapeutic Area products Define end-to-end technical architectures across scientific workflows, data platforms, AI solutions, and knowledge management ecosystems. Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture, data, and security standards Promote reuse of existing platforms and shared capabilities Partner with Product Managers Shape product designs to ensure feasibility, scalability, and maintainability Quickly validate technical assumptions before investment decisions Provide technical input into backlog prioritization, sequencing, and roadmap planning Build lightweight proof-of-concepts and technical spikes to assess new technologies and integration approaches Enable delivery across teams Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are clearly understood and implemented effectively Align with enterprise architects, platform teams, and vendors on solution direction Identify and manage technical dependencies across products Drive continuous improvement Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and scale solutions across TA products Bring forward and evaluate relevant emerging technologies (e.g., data platforms, AI/GenAI, workflow orchestration) and recommend build, buy or partner approaches.Contribute to evolving architecture frameworks and best practices Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or related discipline. Required Experience 6+ years of experience designing and implementing technical solutions, architectures, and integrations for complex business or scientific workflows Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical R&D, biotech, scientific software, research informatics, or healthcare technology. Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures, integration patterns, and implementation roadmaps. Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate technologies, build prototypes, and validate technical feasibility through proof-of-concepts and pilots. Experience collaborating across product management, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders in a matrixed environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience influencing technical direction without direct management responsibility. Preferred Experience Understanding of drug discovery, translational research, clinical development, and the scientific data lifecycle from experiment execution through knowledge generation. Experience with laboratory informatics platforms including ELN, LIMS, laboratory automation, instrument connectivity, or digital lab transformation initiatives. Experience designing solutions for scientific data domains such as multi-omics, bioinformatics, translational, imaging, real-world, or clinical trial data. Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, GenAI applications, or advanced analytics solutions for scientific research. Experience architecting cloud-native data platforms, APIs, integration frameworks, and scalable data pipelines in AWS or similar cloud environments. Knowledge of FAIR data principles, data governance, provenance, traceability, and reproducibility within regulated research environments. Experience evaluating emerging technologies, conducting vendor assessments, and leading proof-of-concept or pilot efforts to validate technical solutions. #JNJTECH Required Skills: Preferred Skills: The anticipated base pay range for this position is: €72,500.00 - €115,230.00 Benefits: In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
