About the Team It's fun to work in a company where people truly believe in what they're doing. At Workday, we're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business of enterprise applications. We work hard, and we're serious about what we do. But we like to have a good time, too. In fact, we run our company with that principle in mind every day: One of our core values is fun. About the Role The Senior Field Marketing Manager, Japan, is a key role in accelerating Workday’s growth in Japan. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Japan, this position leads the strategy, planning and execution of integrated field marketing and demand generation programs that create awareness, engagement and pipeline across priority audiences and accounts. While the primary focus of this role is Japan field marketing and demand generation, the Senior Field Marketing Manager will also work proactively with the Director of Marketing, Japan, and Workday’s Global Brand & Advertising team to support the local activation of relevant global brand and advertising campaigns. The role will contribute Japan market, customer and audience insights to help ensure campaigns are locally relevant, impactful and aligned with Workday’s global brand strategy. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on program execution. You will orchestrate multiple marketing disciplines and stakeholders—from digital, events and ABM to product marketing, sales and external agencies—to deliver connected buyer experiences that are brand-consistent, locally resonant and measurable. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute Japan field marketing and demand/lead-generation strategies and integrated campaign plans aligned to business, pipeline and growth objectives. Partner proactively with the Director of Marketing, Japan, and the Global Brand & Advertising team to support the planning, localization and activation of relevant global brand and advertising campaigns in Japan. Contribute Japan market, customer, persona and competitive insights to inform campaign messaging, creative adaptation, channel mix and local activation plans. Support the coordination and execution of assigned Japan deliverables for global brand and advertising campaigns, including local requirements, timelines, stakeholder alignment and approvals. Ensure global brand and advertising campaign activities are connected appropriately with Japan field marketing priorities, demand generation programs and customer engagement opportunities. Coordinate cross-functional teams and agencies across broader marketing activities, including events, seminars, community and C-level engagement, ABM, digital and offline channels. Build, maintain and adapt project plans, schedules and budgets for assigned field marketing programs; proactively manage risks, changes and competing priorities based on market and business needs. Work with relevant teams to set up, monitor and optimize campaigns in marketing systems and tools, including Salesforce and Marketo; nurture quality leads to MQL stage in partnership with Sales Development. Measure campaign performance across awareness, engagement, demand and pipeline outcomes. Translate findings into recommendations for optimization, long-tail/nurture strategies and future campaign enhancements. Communicate campaign plans, assets, results and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including the Director of Marketing, Global Brand & Advertising, Product Marketing, Sales and external partners. Manage external agencies and marketing budget responsibly, ensuring quality, efficiency and compliance with brand standards. About You At least 8 years of B2B marketing or relevant enterprise-market experience, with demonstrated success developing and executing integrated demand generation and field marketing programs in Japan. Experience working with global or regional marketing teams and adapting global campaigns, messaging or creative for a local market is preferred. Experience supporting brand or advertising campaign activation is a plus. Analytical, creative and results-driven marketing professional with a proven ability to deliver commitments on time while achieving or exceeding business goals. Strong project-management and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across geographies. Experience in marketing enterprise applications is strongly preferred; SaaS experience is highly desirable. Proven track record building, driving and executing marketing strategy in Japan. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English. Highly organized, detail-oriented and hands-on self-starter who takes initiative and adapts effectively to change. Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter. At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com. Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process! At Workday, we value our candidates’ privacy and data security.
