This position reports to: DPČ – Interní lektor __ ABB, a global leader in automation and electrification technologies, is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Protection Studies Specialist within its Medium Voltage Service Unit in Brno, Vídeňská. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting protection studies, testing eHouse Solutions products, and supporting their commissioning. Key Responsibilities Short-Circuit StudiesPreparing short-circuit studies and analyses. Communicating with customers to obtain the necessary technical documentation and project data. Occasional site visits to verify the actual installation status and collect supporting documentation if it cannot be obtained remotely. Working with ETAP software to create network models and perform short-circuit calculations for individual parts of the electrical system. Preparing comprehensive short-circuit study reports based on ETAP outputs and calculations. Protection Setting StudiesCommunicating with customers to gather required technical information and project documentation. Occasional site visits to assess the actual installation and collect missing technical data. Performing calculations for protection relay parameters and protection functions. Preparing protection coordination and setting studies based on calculated protection parameters. Technical Consulting and Customer SupportProviding consulting services related to protection communication protocols, particularly the IEC 61850 standard. Delivering expert technical support and consultation to customers. Conducting customer and operator training sessions. Collaborating closely with colleagues and supporting other departments through teamwork, technical reviews, and knowledge sharing. Requirements Secondary or university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Power Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, Automation, Electrical Engineering, etc.). The position is also suitable for recent graduates. Professional qualification in accordance with Czech legislation (Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Regulation No. 194/2022 Coll., Section 6 or higher). Previous experience is an advantage; however, motivated graduates are welcome to apply.
