Join a leading organization as Director of Facilities and Engineering at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll advance facilities and engineering excellence and innovation across our manufacturing operations. In this strategic leadership role, you'll oversee engineering teams responsible for capital projects, facilities, automation, validation, and maintenance activities. Working closely with site leadership and cross-functional partners, you'll develop and implement technical strategies that ensure operational excellence while meeting regulatory requirements and driving business growth. What will you do? As a key member of the site leadership team, you'll guide transformational change initiatives, promote innovation, and develop high-performing teams. You'll manage significant capital investments, support continuous improvement, and ensure reliable production output through effective facility and equipment management. This role offers extensive interaction with customers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders while contributing to the company's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. How will you get here? Experience: • Expertise in GMP manufacturing processes, facilities systems, and regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA) • Strong track record leading large capital projects ($25M+) and managing engineering budgets • Experience with automation systems, digital transformation, and manufacturing technology innovation • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic engineering initiatives • Strong understanding of validation, qualification, and commissioning requirements • Proven experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams • Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship building skills • Effective communication and presentation skills • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities • Ability to support operational excellence and continuous improvement • Experience working in matrix organizations • Ability to travel up to 40% as required • Proficiency in English, additional languages beneficial for international roles Education: • Advanced Degree and 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing or related regulated industry • Preferred Fields of Study: Chemical, Mechanical, or related field Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $220,000.00–$260,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
