This position reports to: Tender Engineer Lead __ Your role and responsibilities Responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals, cost estimates, and bid documentation for SCADA and industrial automation projects. The role includes analyzing customer specifications, defining project scope, developing competitive cost estimates, and preparing complete techno-commercial offers that balance technical compliance, commercial competitiveness, and project profitability. The position requires a general understanding of SCADA system architecture and its main components—including PLCs, HMIs, industrial communication networks, servers, switches, and communication protocols—to accurately interpret engineering documentation, technical specifications, and bills of materials (BOM). The engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and sales teams to evaluate technical risks, identify cost optimization opportunities, and ensure proposals are delivered on time, with complete technical and commercial documentation, supporting successful tender submissions and project awards. The work model for the role is: On Site This role is contributing to the Ports Business in Panama. You will be mainly accountable for:Calculating a budget value for the sales team or customer to evaluate customer willingness to invest using appropriate level of details. Managing the preparation of all technical and commercial documentation (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis), indicating prices and trading conditions. Collaborates with sales teams and engages with customers when required. Ensuring that, in accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, inputs for editing activities are provided on time and follow established quality procedures. Qualifications for the role AutoCAD drafting and basic electrical/control drawings. Design and understanding of industrial communication network diagrams. General knowledge of SCADA and industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, industrial switches, servers, and communication protocols. Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering documentation, project scope, and Bills of Materials (BOM) for accurate cost estimation. Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals, cost estimates, and bid documentation for automation and control system projects. Strong coordination and communication skills to work effectively with engineering, procurement, and sales teams while managing proposal schedules and commercial requirements.
