This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities: In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the R&D function of Motion Drive Products Division in Bangalore. Main stakeholders are Local business line India & Global platform architects As a Technical Specialist – Drives Motor Control, you are responsible to Lead the development of advanced motor control algorithms for industrial AC drives, including Induction Motors (IM) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM), with focus on performance, efficiency, and reliability. Design, develop, and optimize control strategies and advanced torque control techniques for next-generation drive products. Develop and evaluate advanced PWM and modulation techniques to improve drive efficiency, reduce harmonics, minimize switching losses, and enhance dynamic performance in high-power drive applications. Create and validate system-level simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools, supporting control design, software verification, and drive performance optimization. Collaborate with firmware, power electronics, system engineering, and product development teams to implement control algorithms on embedded platforms and successfully industrialize new technologies. Drive technology innovation through technical investigations, patents, publications, and research collaborations, while serving as a subject matter expert in motor control and electric drive systems. Qualifications for the role: PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of industry experience preferable in R&D functions. Strong expertise in motor control, electric drives, power electronics, and control systems. Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, embedded control implementation, and industrial drive applications. Proven track record of technical innovation demonstrated through patents, publications, or advanced industrial R&D contributions.
