Job Description SummaryAs an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment within the Tube Loading Facility (TLF), supporting the production of X-ray tubes. You will drive equipment reliability, maximize machine uptime, troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems, and partner with maintenance technicians to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations. Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesOwn the maintenance and reliability of approximately 40 production machines within the Tube Loading Facility (TLF). Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and reliability. Diagnose equipment failures and perform breakdown troubleshooting to restore production quickly and safely. Support the installation, qualification, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing equipment. Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve and sustain greater than 95% machine uptime. Collaborate closely with maintenance technicians by providing technical guidance, coaching, and problem-solving support. Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, process improvements, and reliability enhancements. Support Lean manufacturing initiatives that improve operational efficiency and equipment performance. Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and departmental standards. Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, equipment history, and technical records. Learn and support specialized manufacturing equipment through technical documentation, engineering drawings, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and maintenance planning. Strong troubleshooting skills across electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment. Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Experience supporting industrial equipment such as vacuum systems, furnaces, heat-treatment equipment, welding systems, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), motors, or similar manufacturing equipment. Ability to interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Strong commitment to equipment safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Desired CharacteristicsExposure to SCADA and/or LabVIEW systems. Experience with equipment qualification, commissioning, or implementation projects. Knowledge of temperature-control systems, sensors, limit switches, induction motors, or oil-heating systems. Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technicians and cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Continuous improvement mindset with experience supporting Lean manufacturing initiatives.
