Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Role Overview The Tender & Pricing Specialist plays a critical role in driving commercial excellence across the organization. This position is responsible for end-to-end pricing and Tender strategy, contract governance related to Pricing & Tendering, profitability analysis, closely collaborating with country management, MSM Commercial Operations Organization and ensuring full alignment with pricing guidelines while enabling sustainable growth across public and private healthcare segments. Key Responsibilities Pricing Strategy & Customer Segmentation • Define and execute the local pricing strategy in line with EMEA/MSM commercial guidelines • Ensure a robust and fast process to create offers and quotes including all relevant approvals and manage Bid clarifications and negotiations with customers • Develop and maintain customer segmentation frameworks to support differentiated pricing approaches • Ensure accurate upload and maintenance of pricing and commercial conditions in corporate systems (e.g. Contract Manager, ICD, JDE) • Conduct in-depth profitability analysis at product, kit, and tender level to inform pricing decisions and provide guidance to the Sales teams with scenario planning • Perform ROI analysis for each contract to assess commercial viability and value creation • Evaluate total CAPEX requirements associated with the placement of medical devices, incorporating these into contract economics Tender Management • Manage the full lifecycle of public tender processes, from identification through submission and award including coordination with relevant stakeholders • Monitor tender landscapes and generate actionable business insights on competitive positioning and market opportunities • Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and internal approval frameworks • Recommend improvements to Bids & Tenders and pricing processes to enhance efficiency and control Contract Management • Govern and manage contracts with both public and private accounts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions • Monitor contract performance, flag deviations, and lead corrective actions where necessary • Conduct regular review meetings with private clients to assess contract execution and strengthen relationships • Proactively identify renegotiation opportunities and commercial risks across the portfolio Stakeholder Engagement • Generate and communicate business insights that support senior commercial decision-making • Collaborate with Cluster and Mid-Size Markets Commercial Operations teams to align on methodology, tools, and reporting standards • Act as the internal reference for pricing data integrity and contract documentation and ensuring SOX and audit compliance • Collaborate closely with and act as backup for the other Austrian member in the Commercial Operations team • Facilitate communication and alignment throughout tender processes and pricing decisions Qualifications & Experience • Fluent in German and English is mandatory • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field • 2+ years of experience in pricing, contracting, or commercial finance, preferably in the medtech sector • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, ROI analysis, and contract economics • Strong Excel knowledge • Aware of public tender processes in Austria • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and engage senior stakeholders Required Skills: Preferred Skills: Analytical Reasoning, Business Behavior, Business Data Analysis, Coaching, Communication, Competitive Landscape Analysis, Continuous Improvement, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Data Savvy, Detail-Oriented, Feasibility Studies, Market Opportunity Assessment, Market Research, Pricing Strategies, Problem Solving, Product Costing, Value Pricing The anticipated base pay range for this position is: €58.400,00 - €93.380,00 Benefits: In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
