About the Team The Collections team is part of the broader Finance/Order-to-Cash organization and is responsible for safeguarding revenue through effective receivables management. We work closely with cross-functional partners across Billing, Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to provide a seamless experience to customers while maintaining financial discipline. About the Role Workday is seeking a Collections Analyst who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of receivables, resolving billing and payment issues, and reducing overall past-due balances. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. The Collections Analyst will partner closely with Billing, Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue teams to support healthy cash flow and a positive customer experience, while maintaining adherence to company policies and controls. PRIMARY JOB TASK DESCRIPTIONS: Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, proactively monitoring aging and driving timely collection of open invoices Conduct regular outreach (email, calls) with customers to resolve payment issues and secure commitments Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to billing, credits, disputes, and short payments in collaboration with internal teams Analyze trends in delinquencies, payment patterns, and root causes; recommend and support process improvements Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities, payment plans, and customer communications Support month-end and quarter-end activities, including account reconciliations and status updates for key accounts Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements Leverage data and analytics to understand credit risks and shape proactive strategies to support Workday’s corporate strategies Special projects as assigned Other responsibilities as required About You Basic Qualifications 6 - 9 years of experience in a combination of Accounts Receivable, commercial (B2B) collections, accounting, finance or international business Accounting / Finance degree or equivalent level of experience Other Qualifications Ability to display sound judgement in making decisions Strong computer skills are necessary, including Excel Ability to understand Workday’s business strategy and goals Ability to make the complex task simple Strong analytic and problem-solving skills Organized, detail oriented and accurate Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Self-starter Relentless focus on self-development Interpersonal awareness Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management Customer service focused and solution oriented Ability to work independently and as part of a team Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
