The Executive Director, Neuroscience Global Commercial Strategy will serve as a senior commercial leader accountable for maximizing the global value of priority assets within the Neuroscience franchise, with a primary focus on KarXT. This leader will set the strategic direction for the global brand, mobilize cross-functional matrix partners, and engage priority markets to translate enterprise strategy into high-impact execution. The role will also lead strategies to optimize global brand performance and life cycle value for KarXT. This role will provide senior commercial leadership for KarXT, partnering with Development, Medical, Regulatory, CMC, Commercial, and Strategy & Operations to shape an integrated development and launch strategy. The Executive Director will work closely with key markets, Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A), and Global Market Access (GMAx) to ensure development decisions are grounded in market insight, customer needs, and clear paths to successful global commercialization. This leader will be responsible for translating global strategy into market-level impact, with a strong focus on launch readiness, brand performance, and long-term value creation. They will identify and advance opportunities within and beyond the organization to strengthen KarXT’s global growth trajectory. This position will serve as the commercial lead on the KarXT Global Product Team and will be accountable for the commercial vision, priorities, and decision-making agenda for the asset. In addition to shaping development strategy, this leader will establish the strategic platforms required to optimize KarXT, anticipate future market needs, and enable markets to launch with excellence. They will guide market-facing strategy, support effective customer engagement, and partner with medical colleagues to deepen external relationships with patient advocacy organizations, medical societies, and global thought leaders. This leader will help define and scale BMS’s ex-US and global presence in emerging neuroscience disease areas, including schizophrenia, bipolar I mania/mixed, Alzheimer’s disease (psychosis, agitation, and cognition) and irritability in autism spectrum disorder. Responsibilities will include setting commercialization strategies, assessing customer and market dynamics, optimizing brand positioning, and preparing for launches in a high-value therapeutic area of strategic importance to BMS. The position will lead long-range planning for the assets, contribute to the buildout of BMS’s global corporate presence in neuroscience, and guide products through major investment decisions, including representation and recommendations to Executive Management. The leader must operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with significant expectations for strategic quality, enterprise leadership, and delivery excellence. They must demonstrate the ability to influence senior stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and lead through ambiguity across Clinical, Regulatory, Country Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial partners while fostering an energizing, inclusive, and performance-oriented culture. Domestic and International travel required (~20%). Key Responsibilities• Lead worldwide brand planning for priority neuroscience assets across marketing, medical, access, and development, including long-range strategic and financial planning. • Drive enterprise-level assessment of competitive intelligence, market events, and emerging scientific and commercial trends; translate implications into brand strategies and investment priorities in rapidly evolving spaces that are new to BMS. • Convert emerging clinical, market, and brand evidence into strategic choices that maximize asset value and support appropriate patient use and leveraging a tech forward approach (AI) to drive insight and efficiency. • Build and steward strategic relationships with opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, external agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders to reinforce BMS’s commitment and establish leadership in key therapeutic areas. • Partner with GMAx and Pricing teams to shape development strategies that address future access requirements and enable strong launch uptake across priority markets. • Establish a deep understanding of local market dynamics, customer needs, payer considerations, and competitive forces to identify growth opportunities and inform global development and launch planning. • Lead through influence across functions, geographies, and senior levels to align development and launch strategies that drive commercial success. • Define strategies and cultivate stakeholder relationships that strengthen BMS’s presence and credibility in emerging neuroscience therapeutic areas. Qualifications & Experience• BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent experience desirable. MBA or graduate degree strongly preferred. • At least 12 years of progressive biopharmaceutical industry experience, with a proven record of leading products across the full asset life cycle, from pipeline development through launch and in-market growth. • US and global experience preferred. • Functional experience in psychiatry and neuroscience strongly preferred. • Strong scientific and development acumen, including a sophisticated understanding of drug development, regulatory pathways, product design, evidence generation, and new product evaluation. • Deep understanding of the commercial dimensions of drug development, including global and local market dynamics, operational feasibility, market access, patient advocacy, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement challenges across domestic and international markets. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the enterprise and integrate the perspectives of internal and external stakeholders into commercial strategy and planning. • Demonstrated marketing experience. • Ability to critically assess opportunities with disciplined strategic judgment, determine what is best for patients and the business, and influence alignment across senior stakeholders. • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to synthesize complex information, shape investment recommendations, manage budgets, and deliver against financial targets. • Proven record of enterprise impact, demonstrating breadth and depth across core marketing capabilities and consistent achievement of performance objectives. • Demonstrated experience setting strategic direction, communicating with executive presence, and creating a strong, inclusive, and energizing culture consistent with BMS values. • Experience mobilizing matrix teams, creating alignment in complex cross-functional environments, and leading through influence without direct authority.
