A Day in the LifeHL7 / SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ENGINEER Careers that Change Lives We are looking for an HL7 Integration Engineer to join our HealthCast Services team as a subject matter expert to deliver integrated solutions for client projects in our HealthCast Services portfolio. In this role, you will work with our customers and other relevant third-party resources to deliver enhanced clinical workflow optimization experiences by way of HL7 data and system integration. You will be responsible for helming the interface work alongside our technical team members and hospital resources to execute the successful delivery of patient specific data end to end, from our bedside monitors to Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including Epic, Cerner, Meditech and others. Additionally, you will work with our customers to integrate inbound ADT and Alarms Out feeds to mobile devices. A Day in the Life • Utilize your understanding of current HL7 interoperability standards to integrate our solutions with Electronic Health Record systems including Epic, Cerner, Meditech and others. • Facilitate and lead HL7 interface mapping efforts to include proper population within client flowsheets, ADT inbound messages for patient assignments and alarms out feeds to mobile devices. • Engage and lead Technical Workstream conversations with our customers; outlining requirements and managing conversations regarding diverse technical integrations. • Facilitate and lead technical conversations with customers, providing demonstrations of our solutions to help move the projects along and overcome roadblocks. • Assist with test plans and go-live execution strategies to ensure the success of our integrations. • Tackle complex issues while working cross functionally with our sales, marketing and development teams. • Leverage your technical troubleshooting skillset to build trust across the organization. • Self-motivated to manage multiple interface projects simultaneously, competently managing and completing tasks in a timely manner. • Provide “Level 2” technical support for deployed systems, answering deeper questions posed by customers - escalating to Level 3 (R&D) when necessary • Utilize strong communication skills to present technical requirements both clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders. • Self-driven to develop a deep understanding of our products, especially remote patient monitoring platforms and wearable technologies leveraging wireless and Bluetooth technologies. • Create/maintain service documentation with minimal assistance and guidance from other team members. • Support the Presales activities as needed, which includes engaging the hospital IT group, educating the IT group on the HI&M suite of products and installation requirements, completing IT questionnaires, and generally managing expectations around the implementation effort. • Assist team members to ensure successful project execution, occasionally going beyond, or outside of, your regular duties. • Remote position, but may require up to 10% travel Must Haves • Bachelor’s degree in I.T. or Engineering field • 5+ years as an I/T professional in a related role, with strong healthcare knowledge and in-depth experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) interfaces. • Practical experience with HL7 interfaces in hospitals, including ADT’s, ORU’s, ORMs, et al • Healthcare IT experience either as a vendor in the marketplace or as a hospital employee Nice to Haves • HL7 Technical Certifications • SQL - ability to create and run queries and stored procedures • Programming/scripting • HL7 Interface Engine experience (Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, etc.) • Network administration including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Routers, Switches and Wireless Access Points • Network security experience including an understanding of encryption protocols • Windows Server system administration • Visio and system architecture design, experience creating data flow diagrams Your Answer Is this the position you were waiting for?
