The Opportunity This position works out of our Plymouth MN location, supporting our Electrophysiology Medical Device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. The New Product Introduction (NPI) Supply Chain Senior Manager within Electrophysiology is responsible for leading a team of NPI Managers who participate as core team members on new product development programs. They are responsible for partnering with the various functions in Supply Chain (Category Management, Planning, and Procurement) to support the development and execution of the sourcing strategy for design and development phases of new products to ensure a successful launch. This role will ensure engagement, alignment, and business readiness to drive launch of new products from idea through full commercialization across the value-stream. This leader will drive risk-based decisions on manufacturing process that support quality, sustainability, supply chain risk, total cost of ownership, and technological capability. What You’ll Work On Coach and develop a team of NPI Supply Chain Managers Effectively communicate the Supply Chain plan, risks, and mitigations throughout the development cycle to executive leadership Implement formal supply chain risk management process to drive resilient supply chain in development Understand the business environment to develop strategies and prioritize work of the team to meet the business needs. Partner with Strategic Sourcing leader to select and manage relationships with major suppliers to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Partners with R&D to negotiate Design & Development Agreements and Statements of Work and partners with Strategic Sourcing to align on terms leading to commercial Supply Agreements. Coordinate and collaborate with tactical procurement to operationalize procurement activities through development builds and commercialization. Lead the supply chain aspects of new product development in collaboration with program managers, R&D, Design Assurance, Process Development, Quality, Regulatory and other functional groups throughout the NPI process. Partner with the Planning leaders to ensure successful launch of new products. Continuously improve the processes and metrics in which the NPI SC team operate. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or related field. Progressive experience in supply chain. Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams. Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a managerial capacity (including but not limited to direct reporting responsibility). Minimum 8 years’ experience working in Medical Device manufacturing or design Ability to travel approximately 5% - 20%, including internationally. Preferred Qualifications Masters' degree. Experience negotiating technical agreements with suppliers.
