Job DescriptionOverview: We are seeking a strategic and financially astute Finance Business Partner to support our Connected Care Segment & Software Technology Solutions (STS) Research & Development (R&D) functions. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance, enabling innovation, and ensuring optimal resource allocation across our global innovation pipeline. You will work closely with senior R&D leaders, platform teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial insights, challenge assumptions, and support business cases and decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Partnership & Financial Leadership Act as a trusted advisor to Software Technology Solutions (STS), AI Algorithms and Infrastructure (AIA), and Product Security leadership, providing financial guidance and strategic support. Influence investment decisions in innovation projects, product development, and technology platforms. Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for R&D and innovation portfolios ensuring timely submissions per finance forecasting timelines Collaborate with R&D partners in various business units to ensure accurate planning of R&D and CAPEX spend Provide ad-hoc support and analysis for Segment and R&D requests as needed Supervise multi locations personnel Performance Management & Analysis Deliver insightful analysis on R&D spend, project ROI, and innovation pipeline performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Support scenario planning and risk analysis for major initiatives and long-term strategies. Governance & Compliance Ensure financial governance and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Partner with project management and procurement teams to ensure cost control and contract compliance. Prepare and drive execution of CB-2s, working cross-functionally with BU and ISC teams to ensure alignment Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with global finance teams to align on reporting standards and best practices. Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems supporting R&D and innovation. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 8+ years of progressive finance business partner experience supporting business functions Strong business acumen and understanding of the innovation lifecycle. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Preferred Qualifications: MBA or CPA preferred Finance business partner experience with exposure to R&D or innovation business functions Experience with ERP systems and BI tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI) At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
