Job Title Software Architecture, Advisor About the role: We are looking for a Software Architect to join our team and help deliver a streamlined, modern user experience. In this senior technical leadership role, you will design and guide the development of the complete technology stack for software applications, from the front-end user interface to the back-end services and supporting infrastructure. You will partner with application and technical architects to translate business needs into robust, integrated technology solutions while ensuring systems are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. What you’ll do: Architectural Design: Define and manage end-to-end architecture for new products and features, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective. Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical authority for development teams by providing guidance on software design patterns, engineering best practices, and technology decisions. Technology Strategy: Shape the technology roadmap and recommend appropriate frameworks, languages, platforms, and cloud services that support long-term business goals. Code Quality and Engineering Standards: Conduct code reviews, uphold architectural standards, and promote quality engineering practices, including test-driven development and CI/CD automation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, high-quality technical solutions. Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor developers across experience levels and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Risk and Governance: Identify technical constraints, dependencies, and long-term risks; present architectural recommendations to governance forums; and ensure compliance with security and operational standards. Performance Optimization: Improve application reliability, performance, scalability, and observability while proactively addressing technical debt. Experience you’ll need to have: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical. 6+ years of progressive software development experience, including at least 3–5 years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role 5+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot, with extensive experience in designing and developing scalable server-side applications and services. 5+ years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, HTML5, and CSS3. Expertise in designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using a microservices architecture. Strong knowledge of SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or Oracle. Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Solid understanding of CI/CD, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices. 3+ years of business experience within the Financial Services industry. 1+ years of experience working at Fiserv as a contractor or employee. Experience that would be great to have: Experience in online and mobile application development. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning integration is a plus.
