We are seeking an experienced Senior Trademark & Copyright Counsel to lead a critical global intellectual property function supporting one of the world’s most recognized healthcare organizations. In this highly visible leadership role, you will oversee a global trademark and copyright portfolio across Johnson & Johnson’s diverse MedTech businesses, partnering closely with senior business leaders, marketing teams, and legal colleagues to protect and strengthen our iconic brands worldwide. Beyond serving as a trusted advisor, you will lead and inspire a high-performing team of attorneys and trademark professionals, driving talent development, operational excellence, and a culture of collaboration and innovation. Primary Responsibilities: • Responsible for all aspects of trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement, as well as copyright and internet/domain name matters. • Leads and manages a team of trademark and copyright professionals, including optimizing workflows, advancing talent development, and enhancing culture and engagement. • Works closely with marketing clients and with other functional areas that support the business, providing proactive and strategic counseling that balances reasoned legal analysis with business needs. • Directs contentious proceedings before courts, trademark offices and other government agencies worldwide, including management of outside counsel. • Provides legal support for various commercial initiatives and transactions, including due diligence and the negotiation and drafting of a broad range of agreements. Qualifications/Requirements: • Law degree from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials, and admission to and in good standing with at least one state bar required. • A minimum of 10 years of trademark and copyright experience with a significant clearance and prosecution background as well as first-hand client counseling and education. • In-house and medical device, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare products experience preferred. • Extensive knowledge of domestic and international laws, regulations, and processes relating to trademark, copyright and internet and domain name matters. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as to work independently and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. • Prior people leader experience is preferred. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
