Currently in Year 3, our focus centers on uplifting our Performance, Processes, Programs, and People. We are seeking a dynamic Freight Procurement Analyst to join our North American (NA) Freight Team to support key categories and transformation projects. Reports To: NA Freight Category Leader Location: Mentor, Ohio (Hybrid) Role Objective The Freight Procurement Analyst will support the NA Freight Team by managing carrier relationships, optimizing data analytics, and executing strategic sourcing initiatives. This role acts as a bridge between corporate strategy and logistics execution, leveraging modern data tools and emerging technologies to drive cost efficiencies and operational excellence. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions 1. Supplier Management (50%) Carrier Oversight: Manage the North American Freight Supplier portfolio, including Truckload (TL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Intermodal, Parcel, Ocean, and Air. Account Ownership: Take direct ownership of Corporate Parcel accounts and Intermodal carrier relationships. Evaluation & Expansion: Evaluate new and existing suppliers for all International Freight services to ensure high performance and alignment with company standards. Strategic Partnerships: Foster collaborative, innovative relationships with strategic suppliers to achieve a long-term competitive advantage. Data & Analytics: Update, maintain, and manage Tableau dashboard metrics for all freight categories to track performance and compliance. 2. Strategy Development & Cost Management (30%) Strategic Sourcing: Establish and integrate long-term International Freight procurement strategies. RFP & Contract Management: Manage RFP data, contract lifecycles, and pricing strategies, enabling the broader supply chain team to focus on freight efficiency and optimization. Executive Reporting: Maintain and deliver monthly financial and operational reporting files for leadership visibility. Ethical Procurement: Adhere to and promote purchasing practices that ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with suppliers. Spend Optimization: Follow the NA Freight Procurement Plan to aggregate spend, rationalize the carrier base, and ensure a standardized, "One Avery" approach across regions. 3. Communication & Collaboration (20%) Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with internal business units to ensure local operations align with long-term corporate sourcing strategies. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cost-control initiatives, process improvements, and responsiveness to customer demand. Inbound Optimization: Support Category Managers in identifying and capturing inbound freight opportunities. Global Consistency: Partner with global stakeholders to maintain consistent KPIs, drive down Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and deliver premier customer service. What You Will Need to Bring to the Team Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 4+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or strategic procurement/sourcing. Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies: Technical & Analytical Savvy: Well-versed in today’s leading software, including advanced Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Tableau. AI & Automation Mindset: Familiarity or competence with AI tools to accelerate data analysis, streamline logic, and integrate industry trends into financial forecasts. Change Agent: A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to champion and leverage emerging technologies. Communication: Strong problem-solving capabilities paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work Ethic: Highly self-directed, collaborative, and a dedicated team player who strictly adheres to the corporate Procurement Handbook. Position Logistics Travel: Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (primarily domestic). Work Arrangement: Hybrid based out of Mentor, Ohio (approximately 35 miles east of Cleveland). In-Office Expectations: While maintaining a flexible hybrid schedule aligned with leadership, presence in the Mentor office will be required for key collaborative sessions, team alignments, and carrier meetings. The salary range for this position is $76,275 - $113,904/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
