Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, we are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. You will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building enterprise-grade Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) software used by global industrial customers. The role requires strong technical leadership combined with people management and delivery ownership. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Principal Engineers, Quality Engineering and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native software solutions while driving engineering excellence and continuous innovation. The work model for the role is: Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for:Leading, mentoring and growing a team of software engineers while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and engineering excellence. Remaining technically hands-on through architecture reviews, code reviews, debugging, prototyping and selective software development activities. Driving delivery of cloud-native enterprise software using technologies such as .NET/C#, React, TypeScript, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL Server, REST APIs and microservices. Partnering with Product Management and Architecture teams to translate product vision into scalable, high-quality software solutions. Establishing engineering best practices covering software architecture, coding standards, testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability and operational excellence. Ensuring secure software development through secure coding practices, vulnerability management, dependency scanning and deployment governance. Driving engineering productivity by promoting AI-assisted development tools, automation, modern engineering practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing sprint planning, release planning, delivery tracking, risk management and engineering KPIs to ensure predictable and high-quality software releases. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Quality Engineering, DevOps, Security and Product Management to deliver customer-focused solutions. Coaching engineers on technical growth, career development, full-stack engineering capabilities and cloud-native software development. Qualifications for the role12–15 years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on development expertise. Minimum 5 years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams. Strong experience developing enterprise software using modern backend technologies such as .NET/C#, Java or equivalent, with exposure to React and TypeScript. Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications using Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices and distributed systems. Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, event-driven systems, scalability, reliability and modern engineering practices. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, automated testing and software release management. Knowledge of secure software engineering practices including secure coding, authentication, authorization and vulnerability management. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. Preferred experience in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), MES, SCADA, Industrial IoT or similar enterprise platforms. Exposure to technologies such as OPC UA, MQTT, time-series data, AI-enabled engineering practices and Agile/SAFe methodologies will be an advantage.
