Job DescriptionThe Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and timely movement of materials within the El Paso Plant, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing materials to various production areas. Job Responsibilities Accurately record material information, including quantity, lot numbers, into inventory management systems. Safely transport materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, tuggers and carts. Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations, optimizing space utilization. Issue materials to production lines and other departments based on work orders and requisitions. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory to maintain inventory accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. Identify and report any material defects, discrepancies, or safety hazards. Collaborate with production, quality, departments to ensure smooth material flow. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience in a material handling or warehouse environment, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Proven ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification preferred). Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management systems. Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety manuals, and material specifications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and stand for extended periods. Good communication and teamwork skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
