This position reports to: Quality Manager __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to improve customer experience by effectively resolving customer cases and to support the deployment of the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance. The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Smart Power Division within the Electrification Business Area in Napier, New Zealand, and will provide global support primarily to New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and North America. Main stakeholders are local management teams, cross-functional departments, customers, and global quality functions. You will be mainly accountable for: Driving resolution of customer cases by following a robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions Supporting specific communication relevant to quality management in your area of responsibility Assisting in continuously identifying and addressing risks and opportunities related to quality management in the local organization Using quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances Our team dynamics You will join a dedicated, collaborative, and quality-focused team, where you will be able to thrive and make a meaningful impact on both local and global quality initiatives. Qualifications for the role You have strong experience working with quality management systems, tools, and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or ISO standards and preferably understand the critical power, semiconductor and data center industries You have established skills and experience of at least 3-5 years in quality management, quality assurance, or a related quality discipline, working with quality processes, tools, or product compliance You are highly adept in data analysis software and quality management platforms to assess and report on quality metrics and performance You are passionate about continuous improvement, problem-solving, and customer-focused quality initiatives with strong attention to detail You hold a degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or can demonstrate an equivalent track record in quality management with proven results You are at ease communicating in verbal and written English. You ideally hold current professional certification in quality management (such as CQE, ASQ, or equivalent) valid in New Zealand, where required You are flexible to work following customer schedule/priorities, as required in high profile customer cases More about us ABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
